12wk Picture of Little Davis!

Patrick and I went yesterday to our 12 week ultrasound marking the end of the first trimester & the start of the second, where all possible pants I have I'm sure will now head to the back of the closet and make room for the maternity stuff.

Because the little baby is now inbetween the size of a kiwi and a peach, this time we had a belly ultrasound. The little baby looks smaller & harder to define than the original pictures posted earlier, but Patrick and I got to watch the legs stretching and kicking - it was soo sweet! We also heard the heartbeat for quite a while on the dopplar baby-beat machine. It sounded alot like jumping rope! That was wild :)

So in the picture, the little baby is laying flat with it's head to the left & feet to the right. It looks like it's laying on a mound, just chilling out, relaxing :). Within the next three weeks it'll almost triple it's size.

Our next appointment is the 16 week one, where we take some routine tests and get another picture ~ YAY!

So please take a peek when you can ...

Just a Bit Over 11 weeks!

Patrick and I are really excited to report that we've made it over 11 weeks and no morning sickness or anything. YAY! I'm soo thrilled about that. We have our 12 week ultrasound next Thursday so we're counting down. This week I noticed that 3 of my favorite banana republic pants will have to be put away, I'm soo bummed! Even the the elastic trick everyone has told me about won't work. I can't imagine buttoning them, it kind of reminds me of in Pirates 1 when her dress is too tight, can't breathe and she falls off the cliff. That would totally be me!

So we'll breathe a little better after the 12th week, but we're soo happy we're getting closer and closer to meeting our little baby. 202 more days. After next week, I'll try and figure out the baby stores ... they're soo overwhelming! I figure if Sheri got freaked at Babies R Us with all the aisles and stuff, I'm sure I will too. Ohh ~ Patrick and I will start working on names too... but we might keep that secret. But we'll definitly find out if we're on the blue team or pink team around the 20th week for everyone.

In the meantime, I'm still holding up my schedule of working during the day & at night going over to the restaurant. Its good excercise atleast at nights :) I think I'll probably hang on until New Years. Patrick has had a ton of parties lately so they've been soo busy. He was promoted to Manager this month so now he handles all of the Burbank location and also Century City, so he's completely on the run now setting up events and banquets everywhere.

This weekend I hope to finish up the bathroom remodeling (except the tub ... not sure what to do with that old thing yet ... bleck ...) and start the hall floors & maybe even the crown molding. I think we'll then finish off the kitchen ~ tiling & removing the linoleum, and complete it.
Other than that! The weather has finally gotten down to the 70's, hopefully our grass will recover from the 110 degree heat stretch we had. I hope everyone is doing well & drop me a line when you can!

PS. Nancy & Mom might recognize this picture ... this was the "Surprise the Parents" card we gave them in Maine...

8 & 1/2 weeks!

Patrick and I had another ultrasound on Thursday; this was the just-over-8-week one & day ultrasound and everything is looking great. Our little bean is about the size of a cherry now & facing straight for the camera! Looking closely, you can see the little arms & legs too. The doctor was very pleased with the heartbeat again so we're psyched.

So our next trip will be at the end of September, I'll be over 12 weeks then. I'm drinking my milk & OJ, taking all the vitamins, so this baby should be biiiig!!

In the meantime, we've been working on the outside of the house, fixing up the gardens and pulling out old ugly trees and bushes. It's been over 100 for the past few days so we've been running for the AC. It's supposed to break by Wednesday hopefully ... our grass is turning to hay.
Take care & have a nice Labor day weekend!
