Take a peek at the turducken! Patrick made this thing himself; completely de-boning the turkey, duck & chicken. I made a sausage stuffing for the layers, and somehow we ended up way beyond 30lbs for 4 people. It seriously was the best freaking tasting turkey ever. Totally tender. We started it in the oven at 2am, finally finishing around noon-time. Patrick sliced it like a Boston creme pie, all in layers, and I passed out after & slept for 4 hours. But that's my job since I'm pregnant. I'm quite certain that the turkey would be pissed off to know how it finally landed on our table ~ never expecting a duck, let alone a chicken, stuffed in him. Topped off with pork sausage? No turkey wants a pig stuffed in them, I'm convinced.
But in the meantime I feel like I have a lot in common with the turducken since I blew by my last pair of regular pants that I could jerry-rig and wear with elastics. Just part of it, right? Now my favorite Luckys are stashed away in the closet along with everything else until next May. Our little girl is busy kicking me all the time, hopefully by this week Patrick will be able to catch it. Everytime he checks, she stops, and I'm left wondering if Patrick thinks I'm crazy. So hopefully tonight Patrick might catch a kick or an elbow, and I'll also have a picture of what I'm looking like now that we're 22 weeks!
