Jay Leno's 1907 Steam Engine Breaks Down Infront of our House!

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I think everyone knows I've had a tight relationship lately with a box of kleenex, puff plus and benadryl, so I'm a tad behind.

On Saturday (10/6) Patrick and I decided to take a trip to the La Brea Tarpits off Wilshire/La Brea. It is really cool to see prehistoric tar pits and sloths in the middle of Los Angeles, but I'm only recommending it to people who forgot what freshly laid asphalt & tar smells like, because you have to really really like that smell to forget that you just drove an hour and a half through a hot, sweaty Hollywood just to go 10 miles to get there.

But the very cool end of the day, after driving back through traffic hell, we pulled up to our house to see a 1907 bright red Steam Engine come to its final chugs right infront of our little house on Pepper St! It seems Jay Leno added to his car collection a few weeks back and this was it's first run with his mechanic. Patrick got to have a little small-talk with him while they tried and figure out just why the steam engine was blowing out flames and not steam. After a little bit and a crowd started to gather, Jay waved down a Domino's Pizza delivery car, asked the guy for a ride up the street and was gone. The mechanic guy put some insulation/marshmellow/putty stuff in some pipe, and after another half hour, began chugging down the street & waved as he left.
